Is there a freeware program for ripping audio from a DVD?

I have a DVD of a musical performance and I want to make an mp3 audio file of the soundtrack. It's not copyrighted or protected in any way. I have a PC. Is there a freeware applicatioin what will do this?

1. DGindex is an open source program bundled with Gordian Knot Rip Pack which is also open source. A program like DVD decrypter (also open source) is needed to rip the DVD to vob files first then you will need to load the VOB files into DGIndex (using the add files option) press F4 then enter and an AC3/DT3 file is generated which is the audio portion of the DVD which can then be either listened to as it is if you have the codec installed for it or you can convert it to MP3 using a conversion program such as Besweet. All of the software is opensource and it is all free, DVD decrypter is slightly hard to find now though because the MPAA doesn't like people having it as it can copy commercial DVDs.

5. Maybe you can try handbrake, it's a nice free dvd ripping software.
