How long do downloads take on Bittorrent? What can i do to make them go faster?

Ok, i have Windows XP and MSN for internet, so my connection is fine. I wanted to use Bittorrent to download full Naruto Episodes. Anyone else do that? How long do those downloads take for you? It tells me that one episode is going to take 1 day and 11 hours to download! Thanks for your help!

1. Depends on several factors. Firstly the people seeding/sharing the file - if they have slow connections or have capped their upload speed, it will slow yours down. Secondly your upload speed - if it's too high, it can affect your download speed. Right click on the torrent and cap the upload speed to about 3kbps until it's downloaded. Also the torrent may speed up or slowdown at times. This is because the torrent is broken down into loads of small pieces, and each person only shares a few pieces at a time... so someone with a good connection may share some, then you'll get another piece from someone with a crap connection. You can usually get shows in anything from 30mins to 2 hours.
2. Enable port forwarding and it will speed up your downloads a lot. Look at PortForward.com
