What are some of the software applications used in accounting?

What software is used? And how is it relenvantto the field of accounting? Is it used in accounts payable? Recieveable? Payroll? Taxes? The most common programs would help. If you can list 3 or more it would be a plus.

1. Quick Books IS THE BEST! there are others like PeachTree, Dynamics, eEnterprise, Epicor, BusinessWorks, MAS 90 and Best Enterprise Suite; to name a few, but dont know how complicated they are. None of them are all that inexpensive, but the most effective for Self Use and/or if you have an administrator / payroll employee.... Quick Books is the best! 2. Quick Book Professional Bookkeeper is a good one. It's easy to use, and user friendly. Simply Accounting, is another one. but not as user friendly.
