How to resume interrupted downloads without an extra program?

Does windows xp have an option or an update.. upgradee or plug in .. that i can download from microsoft and it helps me to resume interrupted download (large downloads) because i remember one time i saw a computer that had this option. and didnt have any installed program. Do you know whats the plug -in or if it existed? the issue is that i dont want to download any program. to my formated computer. just and upgrade or something thank you

1. Well you can't be too scared to start downloading/installing new things! A computer would be pretty boring if all you had were the basic Windows components. Get out there and explore! Anyway, FireFox has this option where you can resume a broken download, so try and use that next time. (But it won't help you in this case since you had to have started the download with FireFox and it be in the download que) Try using Free Download Manager. Add this file to your library and right click and go to "Resume Download" Note: Not all download hosts will allow you to resume a broken download. FDM will tell you if the host allows it or not. But if you do try to restart a broken download and the website host doesn't allow it, it will just automatically restart the download from the beginning for you. I hope this helps!
