What is the best freeware for backup a hard drive?

i need to fully back up my hard drive and i want to know what is the best freeware for this task. But above all this i want this program to be able to synchronize the two backups(the files in the internal hard and the external) so i can keep updated my files. So what is the best freeware for this task?

1. You won't find freeware to do this, but I have something that will come close: www.mozy.com. It costs $4 per month for unlimited personal storage and will backup anything on your computer to an online server at an interval of your choosing. Lose your system's data and you can obtain it by going to the server or have them mail you a disk with your data. It works in the background and is automatic. Other than that, I recommend Ghost or Acronis, but they are more expensive.
