Downloads and Uploads

What kind of things will use up your uploads on your internet account?

I'm just wanting to know what kind of things use up all my uploads, because if im downloading, i would use many uploads. Unless im send heaps of emails of pictures, right?

1. downloading = information *from* computers on the net *to* your computer uploading = information *from* your computer *to* other computers on the net downloading http (ie web) = no upload downloading ftp (via web) = no upload downloading via im interface (ie msn) = no upload downloading from torrent, p2p - ie; azureus, limewire etc = upload depending on settings sending files to websites, particularly videos (large file sizes) = upload sending files on im = upload most internet plans dont distinguish download from upload in terms of separate caps. its either download+upload = cap // or // download only = cap with upload not counted. If you have the former type of plan you need to watch your uploads particularly with file sharing applications. If you're using the latter it wont matter.
2. The most intensive actions that result in hard drive usage would be uploading videos to sites like youtube, uploading large files to emails then sending them. Sending people large files over MSN or something. Having people upload from you when downloading on P2P networks or torrents. Basically, anything that is coming off of your hard drive and going onto the internet is uploading.
3. Torrents upload as well as download, lime-wire uploads as swell, FTP to a server uploads. That's all i can think of!! also little thing like avatars for forums and pictures for myspace etc..
