How do I permanently block UPloads on limewire?

Whenever I download stuff, and I click on the 'monitor' tab (just next to the 'search' tab, I can see people uploading the same thing (which I presume is off of my connection) which is really slowing my download speed. Its annoying the hell out of me! You can individually kill uploads by right clicking on that particular file, but then it just reappears. Help technologically minded people! Many thanks.

1. You can limit upload speeds but I don't think you can eliminate them entirely unless you mark your upload folder as an empty folder, nothing to download equals no one trying to get it.
2. you leech! the amount of uploads will not affect the speed of your downloads, they are on two separate "streams" on your internet connection.
3. Go into the settings and remove your download folder from the shared files. Limewire prioritizes downloads over uploads so its not affecting you download speed. Any speed your not using for downloads get used for uploads. If your sharing alot of files and stop you may notice that your download speeds go down, limewire does what it can to stop people from "leaching" which is what you want to do.
4. Tools options uploads bandwidth pull the slider right down to 0 nobody gets a thing off me!!!!
5. if you block them, people will block you, but you can by making the only files accessible to be uploaded...empty
6. Hey, if you're not prepared to share, get out and get out quickly! As the person above said, uploads and downloads are two seperate streams. It's all in your imagination. Peer to Peer means sharing, not taking without giving.
